About the vacancy:
As a Head of Product Designer, we need you to:
  • Define the design strategy and roadmap including resourcing
  • Partner and work closely with product organization leaders to set the longer-term vision for the org, define the product roadmap, define our strategy to engage with our customers, and establish measures of success
  • Collaborate and communicate with the rest of the leadership team
  • Work closely with the development team, to ensure that new product development and your design direction blend efficiently Ensure the holistic, consistent, and effective user experience sitewide on the relationship level
  • Lead forecasting, hiring, onboarding, and improving our team’s culture and engagement Develop recruiting strategies and tactics and constantly evolve onboarding tactics Develop product designers competency levels aligned with seniority
  • Form training plans for each competency level
  • Raise the design bar by leveling up design skills across the team
  • Spend time providing leadership and mentorship to designers and managers
  • Initiate new, high-impact product initiatives and align the group around a vision and approach Embody design quality
  • Think at a system level and improve how squads work with our design system
  • Regularly make use of your soft skills to persuade and build alignment: listening, consensus-building, decision-making Support tribe user experience leads for ongoing coaching
  • Guide tribe leaders in building skills of the product owners in the tribe
  • Document and maintain a single guiding source to all practices and frameworks used in product design
  • Distribute and implement frameworks and guides to follow product design practices through tribe UX leads and product designers Help align and share understanding for product culture and product design principles
  • Plan and execute activities for the team to understand the importance of continuous and rapid testing and learning Help fuel continuous innovation in product design teams
  • Ensure true collaboration between tribe user experience leaders Work towards building tribe user experience leads skills
  • Set objectives, track and analyze tribe user experience leads performance and competency
  • We need you to have:
  • Experience in leading a team of product designers Ability to hire, direct, mentor, and inspire
  • Solid experience with design approaches and methodologies along with a variety of design tools Strong portfolio with case studies that prove high proficiency in product design
  • Enthusiasm and passion for creating products and great user experiences Significant experience in driving the design strategy and implementation Knowledge of product development processes and frameworks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing leaders and other organizations Experience working with user researchers to develop customer experiences and define qualitative and quantitative user/customer research
  • Significant experience in managing and influencing senior stakeholders Experience of working in fast-paced, demanding environments is essential Proven ability to drive change in demanding environments is essential Proven analytical and problem-solving skills are essential
  • A relevant academic degree or equivalent experience Strong analytical skills, presentation, business-oriented Experience in agile and its frameworks
  • Fluency in English is a must
